Lake Placid, NY—I Love Barbeque Festival Scheduled for
Friday thru Sunday, June 29-July 1

Thirty-six of the top barbeque teams from around the country will be coming to Lake Placid, N.Y., Friday through Sunday, June 29-July 1, to compete in the second annual Lake Placid, NY—I Love Barbeque Festival (ILBBQF), being held in the Olympic speedskating oval.  The teams will be competing for $7,500.00 in prize money in four different categories of beef brisket, chicken, pulled pork and pork ribs.  They will also be competing for $1,000.00, Friday night, in the High Peaks Ford Midnight Grillin’ Bash. In addition to the prize money, the squads will also be competing for the title of festival grand champion, and who will be eligible to participate in the American Royal and Kansas City Barbeque national championship, held every year in Kansas City , Mo.   This team could also qualify for the Jack Daniels World Barbeque Championships.

WHAT: Second annual Lake Placid , NY —I Love Barbeque Festival (ILBBQF), Friday-Sunday, June 29-July 1.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Shipman Youth Center of Lake Placid, a not-for-profit community organization, which provides support to area youth, ages 10-18.  

WHEN: Friday-Sunday, June 29-July 1. Gates are open Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from  10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Admission is $5.00, while children under 12 are free.

WHERE: Lake Placid Olympic speedskating oval, Main St. , Lake Placid , N.Y.

WHO: Thirty-six of the top barbeque teams from around the country, including teams from Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont and Vancouver, Canada will be vying for $7,500.00 in prize money in four different categories of beef brisket, chicken, pulled pork and pork ribs.  In addition to the prize money, the squads will also be competing for the title of festival grand champion, and who will be eligible to participate in the American Royal and Kansas City Barbeque national championship, held every year in Kansas City , Mo.   This team could also qualify for the Jack Daniels World Barbeque Championships. The ILBBQF will also feature food, music, children activities for the public and barbeque enthusiasts can also participate in food demonstrations.
