Linda and I took a mini-vacation and were Table Captains at the contest. Every single one of the judges had just graduated from CBJ School the preceding Sunday, and we have never run across a better set of judges. This speaks worlds of the quality of the class that Jerry and Linda taught.
All of the Table Captains were experienced. We carefully monitored the score cards as judging of each category finished, and they were the most consistent set of cards I have ever seen. I expected the scoring of the judges to wander all over the place, but that wasn't the case at all. Linda Mullane set up a schedule so that each team was rotated through four of the five tables.
The judges had a wonderful time and so did we. Thanks to all the teams and judges who participated, and special thanks to the contest organizers and everyone else who made this contest such a special one.

I have a feeling some people will be tweaked that they didn't go up there. The venue was FANTASTIC, the prople were absolutely the finest, and the weather was perfect, until they started announcing awards...then it POURED, but only for about fifteen minutes. Thanks to Rich Decker for the head's up that the storm was a'comin'- most people had their stuff pretty wrapped up by the time it actually did rain.
I also want to say that the "Most Hard Working Female BBQ'r" award (teddy bear) was awarded to me; in jest, I am sure; but I am giving it up to ALL women of Q, I want it to travel and spend time with all the girlie-girls, kinda like the Stanley Cup....we all work our butts off and it was nice to have that recognized.
I want to publicly thank Dmitry, Tom, Rich Decker, Jerry and Linda Mullane, and the Shipman Youth, they worked really hard to make this event successful, and it was! We will be going back again next year, FOR SURE! I will recommend this competition to anyone who asks me.
