Cooking information

  • ILBBQF event will take place on the 5514 Cascade Road, Show Grounds, Lake Placid, NY across from Olympic Ski jumps

  • Sites will be approximately 20' x 20' chalked out-lined abutting against on another. Make sure your working area and equipment can fit within these parameters. There will be no vehicles allowed within the cooking area, except during set-up and break-down periods; a separate designated parking area will be provided.

  • Sites will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.

  • RV camping will be permitted at the sites over night only. RVs may be parked in the parking lots during the day.

  • Water will be available in one central location. Please bring a 100 ft hose and a 'Y' connector.

  • Trash will be removed on a regular basis.

  • Outdoor port-a-potties will be available.

  • 15 amps of electricity will be available at each site. Please bring your own extension cords.

  • From 11:00 pm to 7:00 am individual generator use is not allowed. Outside of that time QUIET generators are permitted.

  • Please bring separate containers for grease and ash disposal.

  • Proper sanitation stations will be inspected at the time of the meat inspections.
    Proper storage of meat is required. Prior to cooking, meat must be maintained at 40 degrees or less packed on ice. After cooking, all meat: a. must be held at 140 degrees or above, --OR-- b. cooked potentially hazardous food shall be cooled: 1). within 2 hours from 140 degrees F to 70 degrees F and 2). within 4 hours from 70 degrees F to 41 degrees or less.   • Vinyl or latex gloves to be used with foods ready to eat.

  • Ice will be available in 20 lb bags for free.

  • No pets allowed.

  • All Teams Agree To Donate leftovers to the Organizers of the Event (ILBBQF). Leftovers will be collected immediately after each competition is over (before the award ceremony) by assigned ILBBQF staff.
